As the Western Hockey League makes its way through a pandemic-shortened season, Airdrie players are contributing.

Last night three of them picked up points in two wins and a loss for their teams.

In Edmonton Jake Neighbours and Tristan Zandee were on opposite sides of the ice, Neighbours suiting up for the unbeaten Edmonton Oil Kings and Zandee for the Calgary Hitmen with both playing well for their teams.

In the end, the Oil Kings remained undefeated this season, dumping the Hitmen 4 - 3.  Neighbours picked up his 13th point of the season with an assist on Edmonton's game-winning goal.  The rookie Zandee also had an assist on Calgary's final goal of the night that pulled them to within one with four minutes to go in the third.  Zandee has a goal and six assists in his first WHL year.

Another Edmonton player from Airdrie Keagan Slaney had two shots on goal with a minus-one rating on the night.  

In Swift Current, another Airdrie WHL rookie Josh Davies collected his fourth goal this season as his Broncos went on to a 7 - 4 win over the Winnipeg Ice.  Davies was a plus-two in the game and fired four shots on goal.

In other WHL play last night, the Medicine Hat Tigers blanked the Lethbridge Hurricanes 3 - 0, the Seattle Thunderbirds shut out the Spokane Chiefs 5 - zip, it was the Kamloops Blazers getting by the Vancouver Giants by a 7 - 3 score and the Kelowna Rockets shutting down the Victoria Royals 5 - 0.
