On Monday, October 18th, 2021, Airdrie's residents re-elected Airdrie's incumbent Mayor Peter Brown.

As of October 18th, 11:05 P.M., with 8/8 polls reporting, Peter Brown had garnered 7848 votes.

"I'm appreciative to the voters and the support that I've received," Mayor Brown said. "I'm proud of my team. We worked hard and put in a lot of work in the last four years of my term. It was just nice to be supported so greatly by the community, it really feels great."

Mayor Peter Brown was first elected as Mayor in 2010 and will now be serving his fourth consecutive term.

Brown did say that all those councillors and mayor hopefuls who did not win tonight, did bring great initiatives and that is not lost on him.

"I took a lot of notes. I'm really keen on reminding people to stay involved and stay connected. Just because you didn't get in this time doesn't mean you're not going to get in next time," he said

Brown said that while he is savouring his win tonight, there is no rest for him, as there are many things waiting for him when he returns as Airdrie's mayor.

"'I've got a lot of things on my plate, it's across the gamut. I'm excited to carry that on because I know what needs to be done," he said.  "I can support our administration and they can support our council to get where they need to go."

The total number of eligible voters in 2021 was 54,373.

Voter turnout during the previous 2017 Municipal Election: 24 per cent or 10,976 voters.
