Some local hockey talent was on display last night (December 27) as the Western Hockey League returned from its Christmas break.

Three Airdrie players were in action yesterday, but all of them were held pointless.

Barrett Sheen and the first place Moose Jaw Warriors played to the bitter end against the Swift Current Broncos but unfortunately fell 5-4 in a shootout.

Brandon Machado and his team lost as well, dropping a 4-2 decision to the Prince Albert Raiders.

Gary Haden was also on the ice and while he wasn't able to score, he helped his team to big victory over Lethbridge.

Haden was a +3 on the ice as the Medicine Hat Tigers beat the Lethbridge Hurricanes 4-2.

Tonight (Decmeber 28) will see two rematches, with Sheen and the Warriors facing the Broncos while Machado and Blades take on the Raiders again. Those games go tonight at 6:00.

Haden and the Tigers won't see action again until Saturday when they take on the Red Deer Rebels.
