65-year-old Robert Antonin Andel, who was charged with an indecent act that stemmed from a June 2022 incident, appeared in Airdrie provincial court on Thursday, December 1. He was remanded into custody after the hearing and has another hearing scheduled for December 8.

Andel, a resident of Mission, British Columbia was stopped by the Alberta Sheriffs in Airdrie on November 27 for a traffic violation. Airdrie RCMP was called to assist and it was determined that Andel was a person of interest in an investigation that the Airdrie General Investigations Section had been conducting.

The investigation stemmed from an incident at an Airdrie hotel on June 11, 2022, where there were allegations that a man had exposed himself in the hotel pool where children were present and swimming.

Andel was subsequently charged with two counts of breach of probation and an indecent act.
