The Airdrie CFR Chemicals Bisons hit the road last weekend, but didn't get the wins they were hoping for.

The Midget AAA team took on SSAC in their first game on Saturday (October 28th) hoping to beat the Athletics for the second time in two weeks.

Jake Petrie scored once for the Bisons, and that was all they could score as the Athletics won 5-1.

On Sunday (October 29th), the team was hoping for a bounce back performance against the St. Albert Raiders. Unfortunately, the Bisons were held to one goal yet again, this time from Cayde Augustine. The Bisons would drop that game 3-1.

Associate Coach Dustin Taylor, says it was hard for the team to find their offensive rhythm.

"We have a few issues with scoring. If you were to take a look at our goals for, goals against differential. There's some struggles in that area and it's not that we're not getting chances, it's just our ability to actually put the puck in the net. And it's something that we're continually working on."

So far this season, the Bisons have scored 18 goals but allowed 31.

Taylor says that the losses do make for good learning experiences for the team.

"As backwards as this might be to say, it's good to see some progression in how our team's attitude is after we lose games now. I'd say that we've progressed to a point where it actually pains the boys to lose games."

The Bisons are on the road for the next 6 games and won't be back at Ron Ebbesen until November 26th.

Taylor and the coaching staff is also using the long road trip to help the team grow.

"It's one of those opportunities where we haven't necessarily had outcomes success on the road yet this year. It puts us into a good spot to challenge that. It also allows our players to kind of handle some schedule adversity. This isn't something that I think a lot of teams in this league have, where they're on the road for eight games. If we can make a success out of that then I think we're moving in the right direction."

The Bisons next game is on Saturday, November 4th against the MLAC Beverley Optimists in Edmonton.
