Zach Boychuk was a late addition to Team Canada, but he's already making his presence felt at the Spengler Cup.

The Airdrie native scored a goal and assisted on the game winner as Canada beat HC Davos 4-1 yesterday (December 28) to advance to the semi finals of the Spengler Cup.

It was the first game of the tournament for Boychuk, who has spent most of the season playing for HC Slovan Bratislava of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL).

This year's Spengler Cup is being used as a tryout for the Olympic Hockey team, as many members of this Team Canada are being considered for that squad.

With that win, Canada advances to the semi finals tomorrow, where they'll face Mountfield HK, who they beat 5-3 in the opening day of the tournament.
