Jake Neighbours scored his 13th goal of the season last night on the powerplay but it wasn't quite enough to give his team the win as the St. Louis Blues fell 4 - 3 in overtime to the Boston Bruins.

Neighbours' marker came just past the midway point of the second period, 20 seconds after Boston's Brad Marchand had gone to the penalty box for a slashing.  The 21-year-old Airdrie native took a pass from Jordan Kyrou at the side of the Boston crease and jammed it past Bruins' goaltender Jeremy Swayman.

Marchand, the Bruins captain and chief agitator more than made up for being off at the time of the Neighbours goal.  He scored twice during the game, his 18th and 19th goals this year.  Charlie McAvoy also scored a pair for Boston, his second of the night being the winner just over a minute into the extra frame.

Kevin Hayes and OskarSundqvist scored the other goals for St. Louis.

Neighbours is having an outstanding year, his third in the NHL.  His 13 goals this year give him 20 for his career.  He's also added three assists as the Blues have gone 21-18-2 this season and are tied with Arizona for fifth in the Central Division.  Neighbours has played in all 41 games with the Blues and, if he continues his current pace, is on track for a 26-goal season.

St. Louis' next game is on Monday night when they host the Philadelphia Flyers.
