A young Calgary man accused of murdering a man who had been visiting from Saskatchewan has been granted bail.

The body of Sheldon Wolf, 47, was found in a rural area north of Airdrie on February 4. He had been reported missing the previous day and was last seen leaving his Calgary hotel the evening of Sunday, February 2.

Calgary Police searched Elliston Park prior to the discovery of Wolf's body along a gravel road near Crossfield.

Wolf had been visiting Calgary from his home in Carrot River, SK. An autopsy conducted on his remains confirmed he was the victim of a homicide.

"No visitor should ever have to come to [Calgary] and be concerned about their safety,” Staff Sgt. Martin Schiavetta, CPS Homicide Unit said at the time, adding investigators believed Wolf willingly met up with individuals he had no previous relationship with.

On February 7, Victor Fayiah Braima, 23, was arrested and charged with first degree murder.

In a Calgary courtroom last week, Braima was granted bail on several conditions, including house arrest. He must also wear a GPS ankle monitor and must not possess weapons.

Braima is due in court for a preliminary hearing in November. Prelims are typically held to determine if a case has enough evidence to go to trial.
