It was quite the showing for several high school students at the South Central Zone Senior High Championships on Tuesday (May 23rd).

Students from W.H. Croxford High School and George McDougall stole the show in many events at Calgary. Cavalier Sam Rajah took top spot in the Girls 400 and 800 metre race.

On the Mustangs side, Emily Brophy and Taylor Goertzen went 1 and 2 in the Girls 200 Metre dash with Brophy helping the 4 X 100 metre team finish third.

On the boys side, the Croxford students didn't disappoint including Logan Nellis who won Gold in the Junior Boys 100 and 200 metre dash, and helped the Boys team claim gold in the 4 X 100 metre.

Intermediate competitor Nathan Harris also claimed top spot for the Cavaliers in the Boys 100 and 200 metre intermediate races and as well, captured the 4 x 100 metre relay.

The Mustangs weren't done with their top podium finishes as DJ Voss won the Boys 100 metre in the Intellectual category with teammate Tyson Biever finishing right behind him in second.

Voss also placed third in the Boys Shot Put.

With the Zones wrapped up, Croxford and George Mac students will be pumped for the Provincial Tournament from June 2nd to 3rd in Edmonton.
