Today (October 6) is World Cerebral Palsy Awareness Day and it's being recognized in Airdrie.

Airdrie Council has made a proclamation to recognize cerebral palsy and to light up City Hall in green lights to bring awareness.

The day is meant to honour the lives and achievements of those affected by cerebral palsy and celebrate the people and organizations that support the cause.

According to the Center For Disease Control, one in 323 children is affected by some form of cerebral palsy.
