You won't need to move your car for street sweepers this week as the program has been paused.

The City of Airdrie posted on social media Monday saying that residential street sweeping is being paused until May 19.

So far, no reason has been given for why the program is being delayed.

The city has already updated the online street sweeping map, showing the program will resume on the 19th in King's Heights and Ravenswood before moving to Prairie Springs, Windsong, Southwinds and Hillcrest in the following days.

Updated orange sings will also be placed prior to the start of sweeping in these neighbourhoods.

The annual street sweeping program started late last month and has already finished nine zones across the city.
