Looking to donate old kids' clothes while finding new ones at the same time? Here is your chance.

With school officially underway, this means back-to-school clothes shopping is also here, this is a way to beat the prices while finding the clothes you need. The event is taking place on September 9 and 10 at the Airdrie Lutheran Church.

Cat Tyler, a local real estate agent with Redline - Real Broker and the organizer of the event (with help from David Dempsey) explains what the Airdrie back-to-school thrift-for-all kids clothing exchange is.

"This community event is for families with kids to ease the expensive back-to-school shopping. For every bag of full clothing donated a bag of new-use clothes can be picked up."

If you can't donate clothes but need some, like families in need or evacuees from the wildfires, Tyler mentioned you can take a look and pick up clothes if needed on Sunday.

"Clothes can be dropped off on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Shopping times will be from 12 p.m. - 4 p.m. on Saturday and 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday."

According to Tyler, she has been wanting to do this event for a long time.

"I just decided that it'd be most useful to most families as a back-to-school event for September and that more people would be looking to find new clothes for the kids as they want to change sizes and donate clothes that are no longer needed."

This being the first year of the event, Tyler hopes a lot of people come out for the event. If you would like to drop off donations early or ask any questions, you can contact Tyler by email at cattylerrealestate@gmail.com.

"This is something that a lot of families could probably use. And it doesn't exist yet. I know people are shopping at Value Village and thrift stores all the time. This is just another way to do that, but actually, get rid of your used clothing at the same time."
