On Saturday, the Calgary Flames sent Miikka Kiprusoff's number 34 to the rafters.

With his number being retired, he now joins Mike Vernon as the only other goalie to have his jersey retired by the Flames. Jarome Iginla and Lanny McDonald complete the list.

Multiple former teammates, Craig Conroy and Jarome Iginla were in attendance as well as former Head Coach Darryl Sutter.

The Flames were able to get a win against the Pittsburgh Penguins on his special night with the perfect score (Pittsburg 3-4 Calgary).

Kiprusoff was traded to the Flames back in 2003 from the San Jose Sharks. He played for the Flames the rest of his career until he retired in 2013.

He holds the franchise lead with 305 wins, 41 shutouts, a .913 save percentage and a 2.46 goals-against average. He also won the Vezina Trophy back in 2006 and was also nominated two other times.

Kiprusoff was one of the many bright lights during the 2004 season which included a playoff run. In 26 games played he had five shutouts and a .928 save percentage.

For those who remember when Kiprusoff was playing for the Flames, "Mini Kimper" was always in the stands pretending to be him during warmups and would mimic his every move. They had a chance to get together while Kiprusoff was in Calgary.

Kiprusoff now lives in Finland with his wife and two kids.
