Airdrie's Sam Gagne and Team Alberta couldn't pull off a second win at the 2017 Canada Summer Games in Winnipeg, but they were still guareteed a spot in the soccer quarterfinals.

Last night (August 9), Alberta faced Team Ontario. Ontario kept Alberta off the scoreboard, winning a close game 1-0.

Off the strength of a win the night before against Prince Edward Island, Gagne and the Albertans will play in the quarterfinals this afternoon. They're matched up against Team British Columbia. That game goes at 6:30pm.
