Environment and Climate Change Canada has issued a snowfall warning.
According to the warning, heavy snow will continue today, with total amounts of 10 to 20 centimetres.
"The heaviest snow will fall this afternoon and through the night. Snow will taper off Sunday morning. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow."
Motorists are reminded to prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions.
The QEII Southbound towards Calgary City limits is reported to be partly covered in snow with icy sections, while North of Airdrie heading towards Crossfield and Carstairs, similar conditions have been reported, along with drifting and blowing snow.
