Yesterday, the Homes for Hope Family Fun Day event took place in Kings Heights.

The park in Kings Heights was absolutely filled full of people enjoying the free food, music, and bouncy castle.

The event was thrown in support of Homes For Hope, a program where Castellano Custom Homes builds a home, sells it, and donates the profits to the Alberta Children's Hospital in Calgary and the Stollery Children's Hospital in Edmonton.

General Manager of Castellano Custom Homes, Sam Iaquinta, said he is happy to support the hospitals.

"The hospitals are tremendous. They offer great support for all the children. However, they require an endless pool of money that cannot be taxpayer-funded. So, we found an opportunity to contribute to the hospital for critical care and emergency care for children."

Iaquinta said hopefully the sale from the home will be sizable.

"The sale of the home will be significant. It will be an over million dollar sale price. Once we deduct our cost, we should be able to contribute $300,000 or $400,000," said  Iaquinta.

"Other things that we are doing, we're having a movie night for the children, a pumpkin giveaway, we're also having Santa Clause pictures."

Iaquinta himself has a personal connection to the hospitals due to his now 8-year-old son experiencing health issues.

"We've used the hospital, unfortunately, three times for very serious, critical care where Ben had actually expired due to acute respiratory failure and the hospital saved him."
