The Ahmadiyya Muslim Women’s Association has announced that on Saturday, April 29, the association will be hosting an Interfaith Symposium. The symposium will be focused on how various religions empower women, including Christian, Metis, Sikhism & Islamic perspectives.

According to the event's organizers, the Ladies' wing of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamā‘at, Airdrie Chapter, the event will be held in person and is intended for women only.

"This is a multi-faith event which brings together scholars from the world’s major religions and philosophical traditions to speak on a common topic from the point of view of their respective traditions. The Interfaith Symposium has served as an invaluable forum for different religious and ethnic communities to gather in the spirit of tolerance, peace, cooperation, and understanding," the event description reads.

Guest speakers of different backgrounds living in Airdre will be sharing their faith teachings on how their faith uplifts and encourages women to strive to do their best.

"As we face increasing uncertainty and global unrest, we seek to show our support of all those in crisis and distress, by highlighting the voices of women who promote peace, tolerance and compassion for all. We aim to build connections with shared respect and mutual understanding, regardless of race, religion, creed or colour," a press release from the association read.

The event will be held at Genesis Place from 2 - 4 p.m. Those wishing to attend are asked to register online
