All four of Airdrie's Elite AA Lightning Men's teams were in action last weekend in the South Central Alberta Hockey League.

The Peewee Red Lightning had two games on the schedule against Red Deer opponents. Ty Ochitwa and Eric Dunford scored on Saturday (January 20) for the Lightning, but it wasn't enough as they fell 5-2 to the Red Deer Motors. Ochitwa added another goal and an assist the next day in a tight 4-3 loss for the Lightning over Red Deer Parkland Transmission.

The Peewee White Lightning unfortunately didn't fare better than the Red team as they lost both weekend games by a score of 6-3. In their Saturday game, the Lightning faced a tough offensive presence in the Central Alberta Selects. Despite the loss, Carter McDermid was solid on the ice, scoring one goal and two assists. Hunter Jaman was one of the stars for the Lightning in their Sunday game as he registered two assists in the team's loss to the Red Deer Motors.

The Bantam Lightning had only one game over the weekend and they made sure it counted. Joey Haden was impressive, scoring two goals while Cody Jaman made an outstanding 55 saves in a 3-1 win over the West Central Tigers.

Finally, the Midget Elite Lightning also had one game on the schedule as they faced off with Red Deer CanPro. In a see-saw battle, Red Deer would close the door late on the Lightning as they took this game 5-4. Airdrie's Logan Rutherford had two assists in that loss.

All four Elite teams are back on the ice this weekend starting on Saturday (January 27).
