Airdrie RCMP is currently on the scene of multiple minor collisions in both directions on the QEII between Airdrie and Calgary.
Airdrie RCMP is advising major delays and is requesting motorists to avoid the area and find alternate routes.
No serious injuries are reported and the collision was attributed to poor winter road conditions.
According to reports, the backroads into Airdrie are just as bad with vehicles in the ditch.
Conditions are the same north of Airdrie. Ponoka RCMP is currently on the scene of a 10-vehicle pile-up on Highway 2 southbound near Township Road 392.
Southbound QEII south of junction Highway 597 near Blackfalds is closed.
