It was the call that Airdrie hockey player Jake Neighbours was dreaming of after being brought in to play for the Edmonton Oil Kings last night (December 13th).

Neighbours played in his first regular season game in the Western Hockey League after being drafted third overall last spring.

Unfortunately, the 15 year old was unable to score and was a -1 on the ice as the Oil Kings fell 6-1 to the Calgary Hitmen.

The former Airdrie Xtreme currently plays with the Calgary Buffaloes of the Alberta Midget Hockey League where he is the leading scorer with 17 goals and 24 assists for 41 points.

He was named the AMHL's Player of the Month for November.
