The lane reductions are meant to accommodate underground stormwater construction.

This road closure announcement comes on the heels of two previous major thoroughway closures in the city. Both northbound and southbound lanes on Main Street were shut down for several days for repairs, while last weekend, Yankee Valley Boulevard was also shut-down due to railway track repair.

There are also several road detours/ closures due to the work on the 40th Avenue Interchange to QEII, however, work is slated to be completed come October. In early August, the 40th Avenue Over Main Street Bridge should be complete. By the end of August, both the widening of the existing Westbound CPR Bridge as well as the South Point access roadwork are slated for completion as well.

Road work on Kingsview Boulevard is scheduled to be finished by August 21.
