Although snow has tapered off in Airdrie and the surrounding areas, Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) is warning that freezing rain may occur on Sunday evening.

According to the short-term forecast for Airdrie, Sunday's daytime high will be five degrees, though there will be increasing cloudiness in the evening, with snow expected, accumulating two centimetres along with freezing rain.

Monday will see below-average cold temperatures, with a daytime high of -17, while Monday night will drop down to -25.

Motorists are asked to exercise caution on the roads, as the snowy conditions and strong winds may cause reduced visibility.

Currently, there are no weather advisories in effect for Airdrie and the surrounding areas.
