Rocky View County Fire Services will host open houses at fire stations throughout the County on October 9 to kick off the first day of Fire Prevention Week, running from October 9 to October 15.

Rocky View County’s Chief Fire Marshall Perry Prete suggests testing your home’s smoke detectors and creating an escape strategy: plan and practice two ways out, determine a gathering point, pre-plan a place to stay in the event of fire and after leaving the home, and do not return until safe to do so.

Open houses will be hosted this Sunday at fire stations in Springbank, Balzac, Chestermere, Irricana, and Langdon.
