On Saturday, July 22, the Nose Creek Valley Museum hosted its second Car Boot/Flea Market Sale of the summer. Counting all funds raised from this car boot, the museum raised around $600.

A car boot sale is where residents gather together to sell their own personal items to other residents. It's basically a garage sale, but all in one space.

When asked about how this event went compared to the first one, Laurie Harvey, Executive Director/Curator at the museum stated it wasn't as busy because of how hot it turned out to be.

"We were busy in the morning, and I think the weather played a little bit of a part in us not being so busy in the afternoon. We were still very happy with the turnout and all our vendors were very happy to be there."

Harvey predicts anywhere from 300-500 residents came out to the event to go shopping. All except two vendor spots were sold out.

"We had people come last year who signed up this year for all three of them [car boots] and they just love it. They love supporting the museum and they love being out there for an afternoon and trying to sell their treasures."

The first car boot of the summer last month raised $800, bringing the total raised for the Museum from car boots to $1400. All funds raised will go towards the operation fund for the museum.

Last year, was the first year of the markets, Harvey mentioned they do plan on making this an annual thing every summer.

They have one more Car Boot/Flea Market Sale next month, August 26, if you are interested in attending and being a vendor or even interested in more information, click HERE.
