It's almost time for Lacrosse season and the Rockyview Silvertips are pushing hard to get ready.

The Junior B Boys team is looking forward to a dominant year and Head Coach Cam Foss is impressed with what's he's seen.

"We'll have a lot of kids that are just going to step in, hopefully be able to play and then just play some really big roles all season."

In February, the team had a successful draft, claiming many midget players from Airdrie, Cochrane and Calgary.

It'll be a different look for the team as Foss takes over from previous coach Joel Henry.

"Joel left us in a really great spot. Left the program at kind of it's all time high, laid a really good foundation and he's still really connected with the team (and) a lot of the kids, which is huge."

Amidst the positive outlook for the season, the team will be playing the year with heavy hearts after the death of assistant captain Jordan McKinnon last Fall.

The team has renamed their Player of the Game award in his memory.
