Beginning on August 18, Genesis Place pool as well as the aquatics area will be temporarily closing for three weeks for maintenance.

"Late August and early September historically have had the lowest daily amenity attendance numbers for the year. Conducting biennial maintenance during this off-peak period allows us to complete the required work while impacting the fewest number of patrons," The City stated.

The pool and aquatics area will shut down at 12:30 p.m. on August 18 and reopen at 7 a.m. on September 9.

The City clarified that for continuous pass holders, there will be an option to temporarily pause their facility pass for these three weeks, should they choose.

"Pausing a pass for three weeks pauses access to all facility amenities. Passes temporarily paused for the pool and aquatics maintenance closure will automatically restart on reopening on September 9."

The scheduled maintenance will include conducting tile repair on the leisure pool deck and basins, completing bottom drain repairs on the hot tub, and replacing the hot tub and leisure pool filters to name a few.

As per previous announcements, Genesis Place will also be instituting fee hikes that will go into effect on September 1.

The new adult family pass rate will include one adult and all children in the household under the age of 18 years. Come September 1, one adult family will be priced at $30.25 for a drop-in, $272.25 for 10 visits, or $102.50 per month for a continuous monthly pass.

A two-family adult pass rate in September will be $32 for a drop-in, $288 for 10 visits, or $142.25 per month for a continuous monthly pass.

Other price changes come this fall include:

  • Admission rates for youth
  • Admission rates for students
  • Seniors
  • Veterans
