Wind Warning in place for Airdrie and area

Alerts are in place for Rocky View County near Airdrie, Crossfield, Cochrane, Olds and Sundre.

Strong winds with gusts up to 90 km/h are expected today. Currently the wind is coming from the southwest at 14 kilometers per hour gusting to 52. 

Winds from the west will strengthen today. These strong winds will continue until this evening.

Damage to buildings, such as to roof shingles and windows, may occur. Loose objects may be tossed by the wind and cause injury or damage.

It can also cause power issues and difficulty handling vehicles on roads, especially area highways.
