When more than one-third of the roster of an all-star squad is made up of players from a single team, you have to know just how strong that team is.

The Airdrie Bantam Xtreme has already shown their mettle, winning the Alberta Bantam Hockey Championship and getting ready to compete in the Western Canada Bantam Championship starting tomorrow (March 29) in Kamloops, B.C.

Now, eight members of the Xtreme have been named to the roster of the Central team that will compete with seven other all-star teams from around the province at the 2018 Alberta Cup Hockey Tournament in Spruce Grove, April 25th to the 29th.

Airdrie's Keagan Slaney, Craig Armstrong, Brett Moravec, and Tristan Zandee, along with Ty Mueller and Sam Vincent of Cochrane, Colton Koran of Carstairs and Rhett Parsons from Water Valley are the members of the Xtreme who have made the team.

Two teams each from Calgary and Edmonton, along with one team representing the Central, South, Northeast and Northwest zones in the province were selected at zone camps held March 23rd through 25th.  20, 2003 born players make up each team's roster.

The teams will play in a four-day, tournament format competition.  The event also features an education seminar hosted by the Western Hockey League.

80 of the 160 players from the competition will be selected to attend Team Alberta's Provincial Camp in July.  From there the number will be whittled down to a group that will represent the province at the 2019 Canada Winter Games in Red Deer.
