The Airdrie Xtreme will now have to play a fifth and deciding game in the Provincial Championship after dropping Game Four at home.

The Xtreme and St. Albert Sabres battled it out at the Ron Ebbesen Arena yesterday (March 18th) with the Xtreme storming out early.

Airdrie was ahead 3-1 midway through the third period thanks to two goals from Craig Armstrong and one from Ty Mueller.

The Sabres though, wouldn’t go down easy as the North Regional Champs scored three goals in the final eight minutes, including the winning goal with 19 seconds left to win Game Four 4-3.

With the series now deadlocked at two games apiece, the teams will face off in a do or die Game Five on Wednesday night in St. Albert.
