The Airdrie Pro Rodeo is coming back with the annual 50/50.

Rodeo committee member Ashley Hygaard said while it won’t be in-person this year, they are going virtual to try to raise some funds and lift some spirits,

“We're super excited just to be able to share some good in this time of such negativity. So, we're running an online 50/50 in lieu of our in-person 50/50, but you can find that on our Facebook and Instagram pages if you want to purchase those.”

She goes on to say it’s unfortunate that they had to cancel the event last year.

“Obviously, it's just a tough time for everyone right now and we can't put that burden on our sponsors and just the community, so we're trying to spread some cheer through the 50/50 online and also, we are planning something special for the five days of Rodeo as well.”

Hygaard said to stay tuned to their Facebook page and Instagram for details of what’s to come, including some giveaways.

“Obviously we can't get together in person, but we still want to make the five days of rodeo special for everyone.”

The proceeds from the 50/50 will go towards helping the rodeo get through this tough time as they still have some bills including the land tax and electrical bills. They are hoping to come back bigger and better next year and of course the other half will go to one lucky Albertian.
