The City of Chestermere hosted the Mid-Sized Cities Caucus last weekend for the first time ever.

Chestermere, which officially became a city in 2015, hosted 22 other communities.

"It was really inspiring to see so many great, dedicated elected minds and organizational minds in one place sharing great ideas." said Chestermere Mayor Patricia Matthews.

Matthews also praised the support Chestermere's received from their neighbours including Airdrie.

"Airdrie has been a really good mentor to Chestermere over the years because it's seen, percentage wise, very similar growth to what we've seen."

The weekend also included presentations by Federal Senator Doug Black, Alberta Minister of Transportation Brian Mason, and Minister of Municipal Affairs Danielle Larivee.

Some of the topics discussed last weekend included various technological advances and talk about infrastructure within their cities.
