It will be the busiest weekend of the year for the Town of Cochrane.

From February 10th-12th, Hometown Hockey will take over the town with festivities and a live broadcast on Sunday afternoon.

Host Ron McLean says he's looking forward to sharing the small town hockey stories.

"What I experience with all the players that'll be there, the NHL Alumni, love the show because it reflects Mom and Dad and the pond on which they started to skate. The minor hockey coaches who gave all that time and showed them the way to love."

Among the stories that'll take centre stage that weekend is that of the Cochrane Generals and their General Manager Jacqueline Hurlbert.

"That's not common to have a woman executive put together a program like she has with the Junior B Generals. I can't wait to find out what her story is and how she's done it because they're mostly Cochrane kids and a phenomenal hockey team."

Hometown Hockey coincides with Cochrane's most prestigious hockey event. McLean says the Kimmett Cup beautifies the spirit of the show.

"Her favourite saying was a saying from St. Augustine, the philosopher and religious leader and his saying was 'the world's a book and those who don't travel read only one page' and she loved to travel...that's what Hometown Hockey is for me."
