A 39-year-old woman from Airdrie has been charged after an Airdrie RCMP investigation into multiple frauds at various Airdrie businesses.

The frauds involved a female allegedly providing false identification, forged signatures, and fraudulent documents to local businesses in order to obtain credit. She then used the credit to purchase large amounts of furniture and two vehicles.

On February 14th of this year, Cori Taylor was arrested after she left her home in the Luxstone neighbourhood.  She was driving an unregistered, uninsured motor vehicle at the time of her arrest. A search warrant executed at her residence later that day led to a large amount of furniture being seized.

She is also believed to regularly use the names Katherine Phillips and Kathryn Foster-Taylor to fraudulently obtain credit.  

Cori Katherine Taylor has been charged with 14 criminal code offenses, which include:

  • ·3 counts of Fraud Over $5,000
  • ·4 counts of Forgery 
  • ·Identity Fraud
  • ·and 2 counts of Obtaining Credit by Fraud

She is also facing an additional charge of Fabrication of Evidence relating to a previous investigation conducted by RCMP Serious Crimes Branch.

The Airdrie RCMP believe there could be more victims/businesses that were victimized by Cori Taylor and are asking anyone with information to contact them at 403 945-7200.  

Taylor has been remanded into custody and will appear in Airdrie Provincial Court on February 25th, 2019.
