It was closer than most would give them credit for. On the other side of the ice against Team Bakker from Airdrie, Olympic Silver Medalist Cheryl Bernard.

It started off rough after the first end with Team Bernard stealing 2 in the first end. A blanked second set up a two in the third to tie the game. The two teams would exchange singles in the fourth and fifth ends.

Bernard would take two in the sixth to grab a 5-3 lead. A steal of 2 in the seventh put the Glencoe Club in a solid lead. When it looked like it was all over at that point, Glenys Bakker and her team grabbed 3 in the eighth to come within one of the former Team Canada.

The scoreboard said 7-6 heading into the ninth, but after 2 for Team Bernard, it was practically over. Draw and takeouts led to handshakes in the 10th.

Team Bakker now heads into the "C" Event, but still has two chances to sneak into the final playoffs to head to the Scott's Tournament of Hearts as Team Alberta.

They'll take to the ice again Friday morning at 9:00am.
