Many communities and local organizations throughout Airdrie and the area have been planning special community events to celebrate Easter. Groups are putting on events for families, but everyone is welcome to attend. A popular activity at many of the events is an easter egg hunt. 

Within Airdrie, one of the most popular events to take part in is at Victory Church. The church will be opening up to the public for its Easter event. The church will be hosting a church service on Friday, April 7 and April 9, with both services at 10 a.m. On Easter Sunday, the service will be adult-only, but the children will have activities after the service. The after-service activities include: 

  • Free treats and coffee 
  • Free easter family photo 
  • A petting zoo  
  • Prizes 
  • Boncy house  
  • Egg hunt  
  • Goodie bag 

Venue Church is having a similar event, on Easter Sunday. There will be three church services at 9 a.m., 10:30 a.m. and noon. Special activities include a petting zoo as well as some treats like cupcakes and mini donuts as well as a visit from the easter bunny.  

Another event in Ardire is the AAC annual Easter Party. This party will be located at Daybreak Community Church. There will be food and dancing with music from DJ Kiss productions. The event will be from 9:30 a.m. –2 p.m. on April 4. Tickets will be $5.  

Over in Balzac, you can meet the Easter bunny at Bass Pro Shop. You can get your annual free photo with the Easter bunny at the Crossiron Mills location from April 1 - 9.

The Co-op kids club is offering an Easter egg hunt across locations in rural Alberta. You can hunt the eggs down at participating Co-op grocery stores and gas stations. You can also try to find a golden ticket in an egg and win an Easter goodie bag.  The hunt will be on April 8 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

On top of all these community events, residents of Airdrie and Rockyview County are putting together gift baskets or making homemade sweet treats for purchase. You can find many of these homemade baskets on Facebook groups or Facebook marketplace.
