Airdrie man charged after Oct. 2 hit and run that injured teen
Airdrie RCMP say a 35-year-old Airdrie resident has been charged with fail[ing] to remain at an accident scene after a hit and run that injured a 17-year-old female on Oct. 2, RCMP said in an Oct. 20 update. Police said the information has not been sworn, so the accused cannot be named. He is scheduled to appear in Alberta Court of Justice in Airdrie on Dec. 11, 2025. Related Stories: Police share video of Airdrie hit and run, warn: “video is alarming” Previously, RCMP said the collision happened about 8:38 a.m. at Windhaven Gate and Windstone Road, where the pedestrian was in a marked crosswalk when she was struck by a white Dodge Caravan. The male driver got out, appeared upset with the pedestrian, then walked back to his van and drove eastbound toward 8 Street. RCMP said the pedestrian received minor injuries. Police said numerous tips came in after their Oct. 7 public appeal and thanked the community for its help.
