Two men broke into three businesses in the East Lake area of Airdrie during the early morning hours of March 5th and now the RCMP are asking the public for help with information that might help them find the culprits.

Around 1:30 am, two male suspects broke into three commercial businesses in the East Lake Circle and East Lake Way area.  Constable Dan Martin said Aerial Projects, Stairland AB Ltd. and ATR Logistics all sustained damage to fences and doors when the men either gained entry or attempted to get into the businesses.

"They were unsuccessful in getting into the buildings on two properties but were able to gain access into Aerial Projects and inside that building, they took off with some welding supplies and tools which was quite a significant dollar value," said Martin.

ATR Logistics did capture the two men's photos on a surveillance camera.  While that's normally good news, Martin said in this case, the police don't think the pictures were of much value.

"We didn't release the photos just because they're quite blurry and the males faces were covered. We're just hoping somebody might have been in the area or might have some video of the suspects in that area.  If anybody with information could come forward to the Airdrie RCMP or Crime Stoppers if they want to remain anonymous."

The first male suspect is described as:

  • Heavier set and approximately 5' 9" tall
  • Wearing an all black face mask and gloves

The second male suspect is described as:

  • Medium build and approximately 5' 10" tall
  • Wearing black clothing, a face mask, and was wearing gloves
